A little bit about me.
I started Desert Canyon from scratch in 1998. It has been a very rewarding experience for me and my family. Recently I’ve focused my energy on Reverse Mortgages. I’ve found that this is in most cases a highly profitable product for Seniors especially the mass affluent.
I moved to Vancouver 5 years ago with my wife Lisa and our dogs Bandit, Daisy and Luna. I’ve turned over the day-to-day operations to my daughter Brittney. I’ve often said that Brittney is highly intelligent. The reason for this is that she got all of my brains because her mom still has hers.
What core values drive you?
Concerning core values, I quote my brother Russ all of the time. “Business is simple, just do what you say you’re going to do”. He has been a huge influence on my life.
What makes you excel in your position?
My favorite part of mortgages is showing people exactly how they work and how they can save money. Countless times I’ve sent customers elsewhere to obtain a loan when it has been in their best interest. I’ve also turned down countless loans for the same reason. It all boils down to, “Do what you say you’re going to do.”
What is your favorite thing about living in Tri-Cities?
Since moving to Vancouver, my appreciation for the Tri-Cities has grown. Honestly I really miss it. It’s home. I never have to use google maps while there or find a good place for lunch or dinner. It will always be home.
