A little bit about me.

I was born and raised in the Tri-Cities and attended Eastern Washington University where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business. After college, I entered the financial planning industry and gained a multitude of knowledge over my 2.5 year tenure that has supported my success in the mortgage industry.

As I’ve grown into the management role the last few years, I’ve experienced true joy in creating a cohesive team that genuinely cares about what we do and who we help. It’s important to me to uphold a family-centered workplace feel and that value trickles into our work for families as well. If you had asked me 10 years ago if this is where I saw myself, I don’t think I would’ve envisioned this but I honestly can’t imagine doing anything else. I truly love what I do.

What are your favorite things to do outside of work?
Cooking and baking have become recent interests of mine and I’ve really enjoyed experimenting in the kitchen and learning new things (while trying to maintain some sense of self-control and not buy every kitchen appliance on the market!). I am a sucker for a good TV series or documentary and love to spend quality time with my friends, family, and animals. Cruises have become my favorite type of vacation and I love exploring different places around the world.

What core values drive you?
My core values are generosity, strength, and integrity. My dad always instilled in me that if you see someone you know in the grocery store and can look them in the eye and shake their hand – you’ve done your job.

What makes you excel in your position?
One of my biggest strengths and a running joke with my team is that I “noodle”. I normally don’t rush into things and really take my time analyzing a situation before making a decision. Heck, you don’t even want to know how long it took me to write the answers to these questions due to my noodling!! In my work, this provides confidence that any pre-approval or estimate I issue has been well thought out and reviewed which allows the loan process to be much more smooth and less stressful.

Also, I genuinely care. I treat every loan as if it were my own and consider everyone I work with a friend. I’m not in the business of making money by any means – I’m in the business of helping others and I truly feel as though my work embodies that.

What is your favorite thing about living in Tri-Cities?
This is where I’m supposed to say “everything” to entice you to buy a house, right?

Kidding – I really enjoy the seemingly recent increase in local small business presence. There is a sense of community in the Tri-Cities that I think makes it stand out. I love going to Bookwalter and Proof and also enjoy the farmer’s markets and craft shows. We just won’t talk about the wind.

Brittney and her team at Desert Canyon Mortgage are the best group I have had the pressure of working with for a home refinance. This group went above and beyond to make sure we where able to close on my loan. If there is a way to make your mortgage needs happen this crew will find the way and make it happen! I will be using Brittney and her team for any of my mortgage needs from now on.

All of the staff at Desert Canyon Mortgage are pleasant to work with; they work together as a team and provide impeccable service, going above and beyond to make sure your service needs are met. Thank you to Brittney especially for her responsive and outstanding work!

I would recommend anyone who is trying to buy a house to choose Desert Canyon Mortgage! Brittney, Michelle and the team made our home dreams possible! The whole process was so easy and they were quick to answer any questions that we had. Being a military family we have our own set of unique challenges when it comes to home buying and Brittney was well versed and walked us through each step with confidence! We truly felt cared for and can’t recommend them enough!
